I believe that the time has come for all citizens to embrace the principles of environmental conservation and sustainability. As a city, we must reduce our local contribution to global warming. I will promote more energy efficiency in our buildings through incentives to build and renovate using green designs and standards. I support expanding our transportation system to encourage greater use of buses and other forms of mass transit. Partnerships with employers must be created to provide vanpools. Our future depends on it.
As a member of City Council, my goals will be to:
- Promote green design and energy efficiency in buildings and transportation
- Promote development of a City energy conservation plan to reduce greenhouse gases
- Protect our walking trails and the city as a park
- Develop an emergency energy plan to ensure vital services for our citizens
